This battle is not about liberating the Iraqi people, nor about putting down a dictatorial regime that has WMDs but it is about American interest in iraqi oil and about territorial designs of the US in the middle east. Any state that attacks another state with complete disregard for the UN security council is an "aggressor".This war is not about pre emptive strike for peace but it is a pre runner to neo colonialism . It is an effort by the US to increase the number of " protectorates" under it - a neo expansionist action packaged in pseudo concern over terrorism. There are three far reaching consequences of this American aggression episode.

1. It has revealed the inability of the UN to dissuade rich and influential states from aggression.

2. A clear division in the true integrative spirit of the EU

3. A strong polarizing effect and a suitable environment to nuture further anti US terrorism.

The “coalition” for peace ! .Let us dissect the nature of this coalition. There are two types of countries in it. Ones that have military role and hence has clear cut gains in American dominated post war Iraq. The others that agree with the US on the legality and morality of the issue because it has got aids and funds from the US !!!!!. Remember the bush campaign to increase international support by promising aid to supporting nations.I fail to see any integrity or correctness in the nature of this coalition.

There are a few questions of concern that we will have to ask ourselves ?

1. Why is an American pre emptive strike for self gain a glorified crusade while a strike by a non US backed country for its gain an act of terrorism and aggression ?

2. Are people of Asia and the middle East safe ? Tomorrow another of these countries may become an American target for the so called “ rescue” and “freedom”.

3. Can we still group and get out of this mere useless rhetoric of condemning the war and do something . If such an aggression was done by another country , what could have followed was economic sanctions and ostracizing. If we donot have the guts to do it now we will never do it. Can we ?

4. The Americans in general forget to realize that the life of one american = life of any human from any land. Patriotism is good but fanaticism and belief in the superiority of oneself , could have far reaching polarizing effects that could boomerang on the average Americans back. Was’nt one sep 11 incident enough to get this message ?

Awake , arise . Please stop the war in Iraq.
